AIVI- On-Wheels

New ‘AIVI-on-Wheels’ Tech to Boost Primary Care Interpretation

Primary Care services across the region are set to benefit from a major enhancement in patient communication with the introduction of new interpretation and translation technology provided by Absolute Interpreting & Translations Ltd.

The company, recently appointed as the region’s primary care interpretation provider, offers a cutting-edge service known as AIVI-on-Wheels.

What is AIVI-on-Wheels?

It is a mobile screen unit that can be wheeled directly to a patient.

At the touch of a button, it provides instant, real-life connection to a professional translator.

The system supports approximately 400 of the most common languages, significantly expanding immediate language access for staff and patients.

Next Steps for Practices:

Herts & West Essex Integrated Care Board (HWE) is now inviting practices to express interest in piloting or implementing the AIVI-on-Wheels units. Practices that feel they would benefit from this service are asked to contact HWE at hweicbhv.primarycare@nhs.net.

HWE will review each practice’s past usage for interpreting and translation services to determine the most suitable locations for deployment.
