Hertfordshire Stop Smoking Service

Community Pharmacy Hertfordshire (CPH) is highlighting an opportunity for local pharmacies to deliver an enhanced commissioned Stop Smoking service in 2025-26. The service offers a maximum payment of £120 for each successful quit completed.

This enhanced service includes:

• £75 for each successful 4-week quit.

• An additional £20 payment for each quit date set (QDS) up to 31/03/2026.

• An additional £25 for each successful 4-week quit.

CPH acknowledges the increased costs facing contractors and recognises that this enhanced service offers potential financial benefits. While CPH supports contractors in considering this opportunity, it emphasises that each individual contractor should make their own informed business decision. To aid in this decision-making process, CPH has made available a simple costing tool to help contractors assess the financial viability for their specific circumstances.

Training is available for those who need it, including refresher courses and full practitioner training. All community pharmacies should have received an email with the full details regarding the training opportunities.

Interested contractors are urged to express their interest by contacting Farzana.Khan@hertfordshire.gov.uk by Wednesday 30 April 2025, as this will be the only opportunity to do so in 2025.
