Community pharmacy local campaign Herts and West Essex Integrated Care Board March 2026
Many thanks for your support to deliver the community pharmacy ‘Only Order What You Need’ campaign during November/December last year.
HWE ICB would like to inform you that they require you to run the same campaign again starting week beginning 9th March.
Campaign Resources:
You are required to run the campaign for a minimum of 2 full weeks.
Campaign details:
- Community pharmacies should put up the ‘Only Order What You Need’ campaign poster in a prominent patient facing area of the pharmacy for at least the duration of the community pharmacy campaign.
- Pharmacy team members will approach patients and ask them if they need all of the medicines that they have ordered.
- If a patient responds that they do not need everything that they are collecting they should be advised not to order more of the same medicine next time.
- If the patient does not require the item, the reason(s) behind this should be explored and appropriate resources shared (See Herts and West Essex ICB webpages and communication toolkit for further information).
Pharmacies are NOT required to submit KPIs relating to outcomes of this campaign but are required to confirm by email to hweicbhv.medicinesoptimisationteam@nhs.net that the campaign has been delivered and the dates during which it was delivered. Confirmation should be sent after completion and must be received on or before 31st March 2026. Any questions relating to this campaign should be directed to the same email address.
Pharmacies who have not submitted the KPI data required as part of the November/December OOWYN campaign are reminded that they are required to share this with the ICB and should submit this to the above email address as soon as possible
