Train as an Independent Prescriber with Teach & Treat
Are you a community pharmacist ready to take the next step towards becoming an Independent Prescriber?
The East of England Teach & Treat programme is offering community pharmacists the opportunity to access Independent Prescribing (IP) training with additional support, including:
· A Designated Prescribing Practitioner (DPP)
· Additional quality-assured IP training and support*

Who can apply?
You must:
· Be able to start a GPhC-accredited IP training programme in January 2027
· Work as a community pharmacist within the East of England for at least three days per week
· Have your employer’s support, including appropriate cover for training and learning commitments (backfill costs cannot be covered)
· Be willing to become a future DPP following completion of your IP qualification and subsequent consolidation of prescribing practice
What does the training involve?
For the Teach & Treat programme, we are working with the University of East Anglia and the University of Hertfordshire. Successful applicants must be willing to undertake their IP training at one of these universities.
