After the success of Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT)’s first Mental Health Awareness Training during Mental Health Awareness Week 2022 they are pleased to announce that they have released two further dates for this year.

Available dates: Tuesday 2nd August (11am) and for World Mental Health Day 2022 on Monday 10th October (1pm).

This webinar is for anyone working with, or for, groups vulnerable to common mental health problems. Whether you were able to make our last training session or not, please do feel free to join HPFT again and ensure to inform your colleagues and clients and encourage them to sign up.

The Mental Health Awareness Training raises awareness of common mental health problems and provides tools and techniques to support colleagues struggling with pressures at work, service users navigating challenging lives, friends, and family.

The webinar includes information about IAPT and how to support others to engage more closely with the local mental health team.

Key topics covered:

  • Mental health facts and figures: the current picture of mental health difficulties in the UK.
  • What makes mental health worse: factors and life events which could adversely affect us.
  • When should I be concerned about someone?: small observable changes which indicate difficulties in those around you.
  • How to support someone dealing with mental health difficulties: how to approach sensitive conversations.
  • Professional support and resources: how to ask for help for yourself or others, and where to go next.

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) provides access to talking therapy services through a wide range of different treatments for adults with common mental health problems.
