NHS Community Pharmacy Blood Pressure Check Service

The expanded NHS Community Pharmacy Blood Pressure Check Service has been launched, allowing non-registered staff to take blood pressure readings.

Blood pressure readings taken by non-registered staff should for now be recorded under the name and GPhC number of the responsible pharmacist, as the pharmacist continues to be responsible for the delivery of the service.

Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB (HWE ICB) are working with system suppliers and the NHSBSA to amend consultation record templates to allow non-registered staff member details to be recorded in due course.

Any further queries about the changes to the service should be sent to the Pharmacy Integration Team email at england.pharmacyintegration@nhs.net.
