Use of public defibrillators

Following a recent incident of a pharmacy needing to access and use a defibrillator for a patient, it would be useful for you to familiarise yourself with locations of defibrillators, that are for public use in your local area. There are a number of apps that can be uploaded to locate a defibrillator, one of which is ‘Staying Alive’. Alternatively, the following website can be used to locate a defibrillator: https://www.defibfinder.uk/.

If a person is unresponsive, in the first instance 999 should be called requesting for emergency help and CPR should commence immediately.  A helper can be requested to obtain a defibrillator. The defibrillator will give voice instructions on the process that needs to be followed.
