Fraudulent Prescription
A fraudulent (or forged) prescription refers to a genuine (but it may also be fake) prescription form that has been:
- Collected by someone pretending to be the individual, in order to get their prescription
- Altered by a non-authorised prescriber (to increase the dose, quantity or add additional items)
- Not signed by an authorised prescriber
NHS England have provided advice for community pharmacies on dealing with fraudulent prescriptions here.
